How to solve Indicross Puzzles?

Crossword Puzzles in Indicross are no different from Puzzles that you see in newspapers & magazines. If you could do it on your favourite daily newspaper, you could do it here too! Here are three simple steps to cracking an Indicross Puzzle!

Step #1: Understanding Transliteration

Indicross Puzzles have built-in Transliteration, thanks to Google. Transliteration in plain English means you type phonetic equivalent of the word using English letter which is converted to word in Indian Language. For example, if you want to fill a cell with ‘ಕ’, you simply type ‘k’ or ‘ka’ in English.

Step #2: Accessing Cryptic Clues

Just like every Crossword Puzzle, you have two sets of clues in Indicross: Across (ಎಡದಿಂದ ಬಲಕ್ಕೆ) and Down (ಮೇಲಿನಿಂದ ಕೆಳಕ್ಕೆ). These clues are available at the bottom of the screen, below the Crossword Matrix. You can also access these clues by hovering over the numbered cells.

Step #3: Cracking the Word

Once you have deciphered word based on the cryptic clue, you can key in each letter in appropriate cells. As you type in English, equivalent Kannada words will appear in the list below the cell. By default, first letter is selected and is marked in green color. If it is the correct letter, use Tab Key or mouse to move to the next cell. You can use Up or Down Arrow Keys to select the right letter if there are multiple choices. You can also use your Mouse, point it to the right letter & select it by clicking on it.

Once you have selected a letter and move to next cell, color of the previous cell will change to Green (if the letter is correct) or Red (in case it’s wrong).
